Size

How big is Manhattan compared to Chicago? I don't mean the square miles, necessarily, but rather: if Manhattan was placed on top of Chicago and lower manhattan was where Hyde Park is, where in chicago would upper manhattan end? I ask this because people have told me that "Chicago is small" (of course the only Chicago they tend to see is downtown and some of the northside), and since most people view Manhattan as "THE BIG CITY", I wonder "what were they expecting?">
