How has Hyde Park resisted development so much recently?

I know we have somewhat discussed this before, but I am still baffled. How has Hyde Park managed to resist development so well during the recent condo boom? Honestly, it's almost as if it's been surrounded by a forcefield.

I can barely think of a single new residential development that has occurred in Hyde Park in recent memory. I know Fernando Leal is working to develop a few properties, but those are still in the early planning stages, and there is a lot of NIMBYism in Hyde Park.

But then, there is a lot of NIMBYism everywhere these days, yet other hoods still manage to pile on a LOT of new development.

What is preventing Hyde Park from participating in the recent construction boom?>
