Was Chicago Where Hill Steet Blues was Filmed

I was just flicking through the satelite tv and I came across an Old Episode of Hill Street Blues, and I was wondering which city it was set in. The police cars, uniforms and some of the scenes look like Chicago. Does any one know more about this and which locations were used >
