ok along the same angel as my previouse post about rehab. its been several mounths since i drove down that area of the street but from what i remember there was a good mile and a half worth of halsted around the 4000south to 5500 south block or so (i cant remember mabey it was between 5000south and 6500 south ) were almost the every street front lot was demolished and left as an empty dirt fenced in lot. why hasent any developer seen the gold mine that i see it as?? if a developer or two bought up that whole strip (although alot of realestate , it is in some pretty rough neiborhoods were id assume real estate is durt cheap) and built street front retail and condo/apartment developments all along both sides of this mile+ strip. if done all the sudden all the other developers will catch wind of this and start rapidly snatching up homes, apts, and other structures all around this area to either rehab or rebuild paving the way for a whole new rehabed, trendy, neiborhood near some solid retail. and to top of this cool to be neiborhood there are many abandond warehouses and factories that would be perfect for some cool loft conversions. whats your thoughts on this?> |
