Is this the best "stage" in the world?

Could the following argument be made:

That Chicago with its Grant Park as front yard is the city with the greatest "stage" in the world.

In explanation, is there something unique about the qualit of the place we put forward to the world? Grant Park puts Chicago on display like (IMHO) no other global setting:

• the vast, open waters of Lake Michigan

• the formal setting of the park, ceremonial in nature, more interested in highlighting and relating to the skyline behind it than in creating a sylvan, leave-the-city-behind setting

• the remarkable street wall on Michigan Avenue coming next, celebrating Chicago's rebirth after the fire with what is arguably the most impressive solid wall of high rises anywhere in the world.

• the knock-your-socks-off-reach-for-the-sky towers behind the Michigan Avenue facade

• the two, newer, contemporary street walls on Randolph and facing north from Museum Park

• the extention of classical beauty that the Museum Campus and Northerly Island provide

Isn't this the type of setting, a backdrop, that would be unparalleld for a a major media event such as a Final Four, Super Bowl (ok, so no dome), Dem or GOP nat'l convention...or perhaps even the Olympics??

There may be, but I have to wonder?

DOES ANY CITY HAVE SUCH A STAGE TO VIEW ITSELF, SUCH A FRONT YARD, AS CHICAGO DOES?????
